DIY Pressed Eyeshadow

This is by no means a new thing, but I'd never done it personally, and am a sucker for new craft projects. So here's my DIY eyeshadow!

Video Tutorial:

(a few places offer Kits with all the necisarry parts for doing this project, if you want to get it all in one go:
I cannot personally vouch for these as I didn't use them myself)

Picture Tutorial:

You will need -
Rubbing Alcohol
Mica Powder and Glitter
Stirring Stick
Metal Pans
Magnetic Pallete

(note: you may also want to add a preservative)

Put the pigment and/or glitter into the pans
you can mix them up however you like.
Experiment with colour mixing and colour/glitter combos!

Once the powder is all mixed, fill the pan with the alchohol, and mix it up into a paste.

Add 3-4 drops of glycerin, and mix that in.

I used a dropper to do this, but another stirring stick or cocktail stick to pic up drops of glycerin works just fine too.

Wait for the alcohol to evaporate.

This can take hours, so be prepared to wait. Once it has all evaporated, the surface of the eye shadow will be kinda lumpy and bubbly.

Press it.

Once the alcohol has evaporated, you can press the eye shadow. Use any small, flat object, wrapped in a paper towel, and push it down gently onto the surface of your eye shadow.

Leave them to dry for 24 hours.

Another long waiting time, but it's worth it!
After 24 hours it should be ready to go.
Swatch it, pop the pans into your magnetic palette and wear it!

have you ever made your own makeup?
If you have, or decide to do so now. let me know how it goes!
It's love to see your results.
